Atlantic City!

November 12, 2002 - 9:10 pm

My older entries page has been playing tricks on me lately. I think I have finally figured it out though, and everything should be working.

My post about my birthday the other evening was sort of stupid. It was an impulse thought about my birthday being messed up, because I had a wonderful time. My parents were in the city all weekend. Sunday, my birthday, we went to Atlantic City for the day. It was so much fun. We hung out in Trump's Taj Mahal for a long time. It was my favorite place of the whole day.

After realizing all of the casinos' buffets were like $20 a person, we decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe instead. I ordered a Strawberry Daquiri. The waiter asked for my ID (the first time I'd been IDed all day). He told me 'Happy Birthday' and went on his way. I thought it was kind of cute in a weird sort of way. He had really nice eyes. Anyways, the daquiri was SOOOOO good. It didn't really taste alcoholic, it just tasted like flavored strawberries. Yummy! Then right before we were going to ask for the check, the waiter brought out a huge ice cream sundae. It even had a candle on it. Then he told me that I had to stand up. I instantly thought "Oh no...." Then he announced to the whole (packed) restaurant that it was my 21st birthday. Everyone sang happy birthday to me. It was embarrassing, but nice.

After that we walked around on the boardwalk, went into a few souvenir shops, and looked at the ocean. It was so pretty. Then we went to Bally's casino. It wasn't as nice as the Taj Mahal, but I won $40 on my mom's money. She let me keep $20 of it. Winning was fun.

Then we went back to the city. That evening we went to Caliente for some drinks. We all had the huge daquiris (mom's was a margarita). Then the waitress brought me this huge plate of ice cream, whipped topping, cherries, chocolate, and other stuff. It was so big and tasted so good. I think all three of us got a little tipsy.

All in all, it was a good day!
